Vacuum & Fuel Systems
- Reliable Pressure, Precise Delivery

Two pressure systems in the modern engine receive far less attention than the cooling or timing system, yet a failure in either produces consequences that are immediate and safety-critical. The vacuum system supplies the brake servo and a range of vacuum-actuated components – its failure compromises braking assistance. The high-pressure fuel system delivers precisely metered fuel at pressures the combustion process depends on entirely – its failure stops the engine running correctly, or running at all.

HEPU® Vacuum & Fuel Systems brings together the two component groups responsible for these critical pressure functions: vacuum pumps and high-pressure pumps, both manufactured to OE specification.

Two Systems, One Standard: Precision Under Pressure

A vacuum pump and a high-pressure pump operate at opposite ends of the pressure spectrum – one generates negative pressure for brake assistance and auxiliary systems, the other generates several hundred bar of injection pressure for combustion. What they share is zero tolerance for inconsistency. A vacuum pump that underperforms reduces brake servo assistance, increasing pedal effort and stopping distance. A high-pressure pump that loses precision disrupts injection timing and fuel metering, causing rough running, increased emissions, or in severe cases, contamination of the entire fuel system with metal debris from internal pump failure.

HEPU® engineers both component categories to OE specification – matching the precise mechanical tolerances, flow rates, and pressure curves the engine was designed around.

Use the HEPU® parts catalogue to find the correct vacuum pump or high-pressure pump for your application.

Key features

  • OE-matched mechanical tolerances.
Both vacuum pumps and high-pressure fuel pumps are manufactured to the precise internal tolerances specified by the original equipment critical given how sensitive both systems are to even minor dimensional deviation.
  • Engineered for consistent output across the operating range.
Vacuum pumps maintain reliable vacuum generation from idle through full load; high-pressure fuel pumps maintain stable injection pressure and metering accuracy across the engine's full demand range.
  • Coverage for the most widely serviced petrol and diesel applications.
HEPU® vacuum pumps and high-pressure fuel pumps cover a broad range of passenger car and light commercial vehicle platforms.
  • Resistant to the operating conditions specific to each system.
Vacuum pumps are engineered for the heat and continuous cyclic operation of the engine bay; high-pressure fuel pumps are engineered for the abrasive and corrosive conditions of modern low-sulphur and biofuel-blended fuels.

Benefits

  • Brake assistance protected.
A correctly functioning vacuum pump ensures consistent brake servo assistance under all conditions - critical safety performance that should never be compromised by a degraded component.
  • Combustion efficiency and emissions compliance maintained.
Precise fuel metering and stable injection pressure directly support clean, efficient combustion. A high-pressure fuel pump operating outside specification increases emissions and can trigger fault codes that mask the underlying mechanical cause.
  • Prevents catastrophic fuel system contamination.
Internal failure of a high-pressure fuel pump can release metal debris into the fuel system, contaminating injectors and the fuel rail. Correct, OE-specification replacement at the first sign of pump wear avoids this cascading failure.
  • One source for both critical pressure systems.
Sourcing vacuum pumps and high-pressure fuel pumps from a single manufacturer to one quality standard simplifies procurement and ensures consistent reliability across both systems.
