HEPU® AdBlue® is a high-purity AUS 32 reducing agent for diesel engines with SCR exhaust after-treatment. Manufactured to ISO 22241-1, it converts harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapour – keeping the SCR system efficient and the vehicle emission-compliant.
HEPU® AdBlue® is a high-purity aqueous urea solution (AUS 32) – 32.5% technically pure urea in demineralised water – used as the reducing agent in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on modern diesel engines.
During operation, a precise dose of AdBlue® is injected into the hot exhaust stream upstream of the SCR catalyst. The heat breaks the urea down into ammonia (NH₃) and carbon dioxide. Over the catalyst, the ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides (NOx) and converts them into two harmless substances: nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O). This is what allows diesel engines to meet current emission limits.
Purity is critical. Any contamination – or the wrong fluid in the tank — can damage the injector and the SCR catalyst, triggering fault codes and costly repairs. HEPU® AdBlue® is manufactured to ISO 22241-1 to guarantee the exact composition the system requires. It is dosed automatically from a dedicated tank and must never be added to the diesel fuel.
