Variable Valve Timing Sprockets
- Camshaft Phase Control at the Mechanical Foundation

Variable valve timing systems adjust camshaft phase angles in real time to optimise combustion across the rev range. The camshaft sprocket is the mechanical foundation of this process – the phaser unit that physically rotates the camshaft relative to the drive chain or belt, actuated by oil pressure routed through the VVT solenoid valve. A worn or failed sprocket cannot be corrected by adjusting the solenoid, resetting adaptation values, or replacing the chain. The fault is in the mechanical actuator itself.

HEPU® variable valve timing sprockets are manufactured to OE specification, covering major VVT platforms including BMW VANOS, VAG, PSA, Toyota VVT-i, and Ford Ti-VCT applications.

Use the HEPU® parts catalogue to find the correct VVT sprocket for your application.
