The expansion tank absorbs the volume change of coolant as it heats and cools, while maintaining the pressure required for correct cooling system operation. A cracked tank, a failed pressure cap, or a faulty level sensor causes the same outcome regardless of the root cause: loss of system pressure, air ingress into the cooling circuit, and reduced cooling efficiency that often presents as intermittent overheating.
HEPU® expansion tanks are manufactured to OE specification, including integrated level and temperature sensors where fitted by the original equipment.
